The Internet is full of specialized applications, for various tasks, like converting a certain type of media file, splitting files and so on. KontextViewer focuses on all tasks and media types. It can convert images, audio or video files, using a wide range of formats, it can extract tag information and more. The best part is that it allows you to perform these tasks just by selecting a series of options, in a context menu.

You can evaluate the application for 15 days, without any other restrictions. It works on Windows XP and any later edition up to Windows 8 and you can install it in a few moments.

KontextViewer works as an extension for Windows Explorer. If you right click a file, you will find a new set of options in the context menu. The main context menu will display basic information about the file and you will find the available options in a sub-menu. As previously suggested, you can use them to convert the selected files to a different format, extract EXIF, INFOS, IPTC or XMP information, split the files, upload or send them by email and more.

The application works with any media file or document. You will find different options in the context menu, depending on what type of file you select. If you right click an image or a video file, the basic information will include a thumbnail, so you can preview the file. Certain features, like converting an item, will store the output file in the same folder. When performing other tasks, like splitting or joining files, you will have to specify a destination path, on a small window.

You can bring up KontextViewer's general settings menu by selecting the appropriate option, in the same context menu. The application allows you to decide what options should be displayed in the context menu, for specific media types. You can also make a few adjustments to resize pictures, when you convert them, change the thumbnail's dimensions or set a default path for the output files.

Pros

You can perform various actions on your files, in Windows Explorer, with context menu options. It is possible to show or hide specific options, for each type of media file. It is also possible to view basic information about files and preview images, in the same context menu.

Cons

The application is not compatible with 64-bit operating systems. You won't need countless applications while using KontextViewer. It enables you to perform a wide variety of advanced tasks, with simple context menu options.
